THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET
For students ages 16-21 - Often called composer/lyricist Steven Sondheim’s “most perfect score,” Sweeney Todd is lush, operatic, and full of soaring beauty, pitch-black comedy, and stunning terror, recounting the unsettling tale of a Victorian-era barber who returns home to London after fifteen years of exile to take revenge on the corrupt judge who ruined his life. When revenge eludes him, Sweeney swears vengeance on the entire human race, and alongside his business associate Mrs. Lovett, finds his revenge in a most delicious way against the unsuspecting public.
For students ages 7-21 - Matilda the Musical is the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Based on the beloved novel by Roald Dahl, Matilda, the daughter of abusive parents, finds refuge in library books, and in creating her own stories. Things are no better at school, where Matilda must also face a tyrannical and cruel headmistress. Brave little Matilda knows she has to stand up against the adults in her world, and in doing so, discovers her own remarkable powers.

For students ages 7-15 - D2I is going Technicolor® with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s irresistible story of Joseph, his jealous brothers, and one very colorful garment. This delightful musical parable follows the Biblical story of Joseph, the favorite son blessed with prophetic dreams, on his journey to Egypt after being sold into slavery by his brothers. Audiences will enjoy an engaging crazy quilt of musical styles, from country-western to calypso and bubblegum pop to rock and roll.
